7
+ OmniOSce v11 r151050 is out!
8
+
9
+ On the 6th of May 2024, the OmniOSce Association has released a new stable
10
+ version of OmniOS - The Open Source Enterprise Server OS. The release comes
11
+ with many tool updates, brand-new features and additional hardware support. For
12
+ details see the [ release notes] ( https://omnios.org/rn/r50 ) .
13
+
14
+ ** Note that r151038 is now end-of-life.** You should upgrade to r151046
15
+ or r151050 to stay on a supported track. r151046 is an LTS release with support
16
+ until May 2026, and r151050 is a stable release with support until May
17
+ 2025 .
18
+
19
+ For anyone who tracks LTS releases, the previous LTS - r151038 - is now
20
+ end-of-life. You should upgrade to r151046 for continued LTS support.
21
+
22
+ OmniOS is fully Open Source and free. Nevertheless, it takes a lot of time and
23
+ money to keep maintaining a full-blown operating system distribution. Our
24
+ statistics show that there are almost 2'000 active installations of OmniOS
25
+ while fewer than 20 people send regular contributions. If your organisation
26
+ uses OmniOS based servers, please consider becoming a regular
27
+ [ patron] ( https://omnios.org/patron ) or taking out a
28
+ [ support contract] ( https://omnios.org/invoice ) .
