fork sdk to implement a custom data model

Hi,

I am looking into creating my own fork of the SDK to support a particular use case. I would like to update the internal data model for metrics and logs to include some custom fields that are needed for my use case. I would also like to update the SDK to support validation and export of this data. Primarily I'm interested exporting via OTLP http and Prometheus. I am not too keen on the feasibility of this task and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.
