Yes we are aware that this is happening. We would very much like to release a pre-alpha release. Sadly we're having issues with our release pipeline at the moment. You can see the actions failing on GitHub, in case you want to look at them yourself. However, I think that CodeEdit isn't progressed enough to replace something like Atom. Some key things we are missing are LPS and ExtensionAPI. There are also some stability issues that would make it unusable for proper use. |

@Jeehut Thank you for wanting to make this project successful. We have really high ambitions with this project and we are very confident in a successful release, but at the moment it is not ready for production use. The timeline is at the mercy of the community. The more community involvement, the faster we get to release. Involvement can be code contribution, sponsorship, ideation, collaboration, and spreading the word so others can do the same. We are just as anxious to get to release as you and everyone else following this project, but right now that is the only way to spread up the timeline that I can think of, unless you or anyone else has any other ideas. |

It seems I missed the initial announcement in June, but I just found out while starting the app that GitHub is sunsetting the Atom editor in December 15, which is just 10 days away. I don't know how far the first release of CodeEdit is away, but if it's somewhat of "around the corner", I think there's a chance to time it in a way that a good portion of Mac Atom users might migrate over to CodeEdit if there's a release available by Dec 15 or shortly after.
CodeEdit could be strategically mentioned in threads on Twitter/Reddit etc. where people will (or already have?) search(ed) for an alternative to Atom. I would for sure make a tweet (or toot) to help those confused Atom users like me. CodeEdit just has to have a release by then. Just putting this out there as a chance to not miss it if things fit, if the first release is still far away, then feel free to ignore, I don't mean to put stress on anyone working on Open Source ... just trying to help this project be successful.
