For what it's worth, I'm a strong +1 on welcoming Jupyter AI as a new subproject! I'm happy to help write the JEP if you'd like. |

As we close out the first Jupyter AI Workshop (in March 2026) and near releasing Jupyter AIv3, we have been discussing the idea of officially proposing Jupyter AI as a Jupyter Subproject. How do folks here feel about starting that process?
We would need to open a pre-proposal, then an official JEP.
I would propose we nominate this whole org and all of it's repos to become the new subproject organization. The initial "council" would be the current member represented in this org today.
Anyone and everyone is welcome to share their thoughts here. Let's make a decision within a week and aim to open an pre-proposal by March 30th.
In the meantime, let's begin drafting the pre-proposal here: https://hackmd.io/-oPUoiM5TS-Wqa5lQU349A
