I am a long-time user and a big fan of Organic Maps, primarily due to its exceptional rendering performance and smooth navigation experience. However, I have encountered a significant workflow bottleneck regarding the management of GPS tracks that I would like to bring to your attention.
My Use Case:
I record my movements daily using a GPS logger and import these GPX files into Organic Maps. My goal is to maintain a visual archive of every place I have traveled across the globe, effectively using the app as a personal "heatmap" to see my historical routes on a single interface.
The Problem:
Currently, I am facing two major issues that hinder this process:
Lack of Bulk Deletion: As I import new or updated GPX files, the "Bookmarks and Tracks" list grows rapidly. There is currently no option to select multiple tracks or an entire category to bulk delete them. Deleting them one by one is practically impossible for a high-volume user. While I know I can "hide" tracks, they still remain in the database, bloating the application data.
Duplicate Rendering and Overlays: Because I cannot clear the old dataset, whenever I attempt to update or re-import a track, the app does not recognize or overwrite existing data. It creates a duplicate. This results in multiple identical tracks rendering on top of each other, which severely clutters the map and eventually degrades performance.
I have even attempted to find the local database files via Android’s file system (e.g., within /Android/data/app.organicmaps/) to manually wipe these imported tracks, but they appear to be stored in a secured directory that is not user-accessible without root or complex workarounds.
My Questions:
Is there a "Bulk Delete" or "Clear All Tracks" feature currently hidden in the settings that I might have overlooked?
If not, are there any plans to implement a multi-selection tool for the Bookmarks/Tracks menu in future updates?
Is there a specific directory or a clean-up method you recommend for users who need to purge their track history periodically without reinstalling the entire app and re-downloading gigabytes of offline maps?
