EDIT: I don't know how I missed this in the settings before, but I now see "Settings > General Settings > Appearance > 'Follow the system'|'Light'|'Dark'|'Light from dawn till dusk'," which solves this issue. So, all of the below is "solved" for my usage. I'll be able to keep using Organic Maps!
Hi,
I was creating a KML file that will be used during the dark and went to toggle "Night Mode" to test the appearance and noticed that the option is changed in "2026.06.29-3-Google" to "Night style when navigating in the dark." Now I see this closed issue seems to be discussing this: #11994.
The automatic night setting has never worked for my Android Galaxy Tab A or any of my Android phones, including my current Pixel 7A, so I have always had to manually toggle Night Mode on. Apparently, I haven't done any night driving since whatever version implemented this change, so I had failed to notice this. I just tested both my tablet and my phone in a dark room and confirmed that they do not automatically go dark when navigation is started.
If I have no way of manually setting the mode to dark for both viewing the static map and for navigation, I will need to find an alternate application for some upcoming long trips later this year that will involve a good bit of night driving. I really don't want to move from Organic Maps, but this will force my hand. I thought it more appropriate to put this in "discussions" instead of "issues," but if the latter is more appropriate, I will ask for it to be moved or I will re-post if suggested.
Thanks for the consideration,
