Google Tag for Copy Button click

Hey all,

I am trying to measure the conversion rate of my users from visiting the documentation to actually completing the Getting Started. This is the website: https://docs.tabsdata.com/latest/guide/02_getting_started/main.html

To measure the conversion, I am trying to add a Google Tag Event to track the click of buttons to copy code. The lower on the page you press the button to copy code, the higher likelihood it is that you completed the Getting Started.

This is the code I added to my custom.js.

        console.log('Copy button clicked! Sending event to GA...');
        gtag('event', 'copy_code', {
            'event_category': 'interaction',
            'event_label': window.location.pathname
        });
    }
});

This code is not working.

While I am able to see all the other default events like scroll, and page views in my console, the copy button is not getting tracked. Any inputs on how to solve this?
