Does using _static
provide benefits compared to placing images in directories next to the documentation that uses them?

I don't know for certain if it does, but I doubt it. It is pretty common to store images along side documents they are associated with so I think you're fine. |

Hello! Does using the
_static
directory to store my documentation image files provide a benefit over placing the image files in the directory with the documentation files that use those images? I find it helps me to organize things better when I place the images next to (or in a subdirectory near) the documentation that actually uses the files being referenced. However, I don't know if the_static
directory provides some benefit (with caching or such) that results in a being better to put image files in the_static
