Can't sign in to dashboard: "Multiple accounts with the same email address in the same linking domain detected" (ticket SU-486335)

Hi! I can't sign in to the Supabase dashboard with GitHub. I get:
"Multiple accounts with the same email address in the same linking domain detected: default"

This started after I consolidated several GitHub accounts into one, which now has four verified emails. My Supabase account (owner of "booksfinderia's Org") was created with GitHub sign-in. Password reset says the account can only sign in with GitHub, and setting that account's email as my primary GitHub email didn't help.

I opened ticket SU-486335 and verified my identity. I need dashboard access to upgrade to Pro before a school pilot that starts in 5 days. Could someone help flag the ticket? Thank you!

This happens because of how Supabase Auth (GoTrue) handles Identity Linking. When you consolidated your GitHub accounts, you added multiple verified emails to your GitHub profile. During the OAuth handshake, GitHub sends this array of emails to Supabase. If one of those emails was already associated with a separate, older Supabase identity, the system detects a collision and blocks login to prevent account takeover — hence the "Multiple accounts... default" error.

Since you have a school pilot in 5 days, here's a possible workaround to try while support works on your ticket (not a guaranteed fix, since the collision may already be recorded server-side, but worth attempting):

1. Go to GitHub Settings > Emails.
2. Temporarily remove the extra emails added during the consolidation, leaving only the original email your Supabase account (booksfinderia's Org) was created with.
3. Try signing into the Supabase Dashboard via GitHub again.

If this works, it's likely because it stops the conflicting email from being sent in the OAuth payload. If it doesn't work, that probably means the conflict is already stored in Supabase's identity records, and only support can resolve it by manually deduplicating on their end — worth mentioning that possibility explicitly to them on ticket SU-486335, along with your deadline.

One caution: removing emails from GitHub, even temporarily, could affect other services or notifications tied to those addresses, so make sure nothing else depends on them before doing this.
