Hi,

Here is my Blockout clone for RP6502: Repository

I hope you will like it.
I've learned a lot about programing picocomputer while working on this project.
Also AI helped a lot with some optimizations, but it's still slower than C64 version released years ago.

I'm working on it. I already have some sound and added option to change pit size 3x3, 4x4, 5x5. Few more tweaks and it should be ready soon.

I've released version 1.0.
It should be in playable state, at least it works for me ;)

You mentioned the C64 version is faster. I looked at a video and it doesn't seem faster. The resolution is also significantly different, 320x180x4 vs 160x200x2. The game is playable but if you wanted to optimize for fun then I think the best result would come from changing all the drawing math to int8. Because the playfield is only 180x180, you should only need int16 for the final step of computing the xram location.

If I set clock to 1Mhz then my code is very slow compared to C64, but at 8MHz it is faster ;)
Anyway, I've added new version with optimized drawing shorter lines, but difference in speed is quite low.
I've also fixed hud display so it shows points correctly.
I think drawing speed is not limiting playability now.

I didn't try it at 1MHz. Maybe I should because I need way more time to randomly smash buttons. I did clear a row once. Once!

I guess I have some muscle memory left as it's quite natural for me. But I've spend a lot of time playing Blockout on my 286AT with Hercules card in the early 90's.
