Hi, so I saw that some people were complaining about the current Ranking system, so I came up with some things that could '''fix''' it a bit
Accessibility
This applies to both the NAT site and Mappers Quild - The sites aren't accessible from the osu!web.
It's easy to find them using the internet, but a better idea is to link the sites - basically add two buttons in the osu! Site so the NAT and MQ are more accessible to people who can't (somehow) find it, or just don't bother enough to look for it.
Add information about how the BN aplications work to the osu!wiki, it isn't there (unless I'm blind)
Also, update the wiki about NAT overall, some members aren't listed (like nanoya) (unless I'm blind, but just check it in case)
Ranking system
Search for all maps of "Shikairo days". The song has 9 ranked mapsets, which itself wouldn't be a problem if 6 of them weren't only for osu!standard. After doing some math and checking - assuming the people working on the maps don't repeat - there are almost 100 people who worked on the song, and got their GD/Mapset ranked. Limit the amount of maps on the same gamemode and the same song to 4 - we don't need so many people focusing on one song, just because its popular. 4 different sets will be enough to give variety, especially considering there are maps made with over 10 difficulties. And while that would be annoying to encounter by yourself, it would definitely help the games song list - How? Because there are many tracks from Featured artists who don't even have maps, and it would help less popular music be shown to the osu Beatmap list, since everyone can't just Map the same thing
New type for aplications TBN or Test Beatmap Nominator would be one of the main ways to determine if a person is ready to be a BN. In the application to become a BN, you write why you want to become a BN, your goals, some standard questions about the Ranking criteria, and then after you passed that, you go into phase 2 and become a TBN - Basically, you have a month to mod 3 maps and nominate them for ranked. Then NAT inspects your nominations and if there is anything missing in the mods and the Beatmap. If your nominations and mods make sense, beatmaps keep their nominations and you become a probationary BN (as always), if they don't, you can retry after 2 months, not 3, 2 and the beatmaps don't keep their nominations, but looking at the fact that NAT would already have to inspect the map, they could also mod in the discussion forum what's missing, so both the applicant and Beatmap host know what's wrong.
This would improve the speed at testing applicants solely by questions, and allows mappers to bring their map to ranked faster, or just learn more overall. Everyone wins, whatever the outcome is.
Add more rewards for BN's and NAT's - The only real reward BN's and NAT's get is the osu!supporter Tag.... That's it. And don't say that the badges you get for nominations (for an example) 100 beatmaps, and being a BN/NAT for a year are rewards. They aren't rewards, or atleast ones who are convincing for people.
Being a BN and NAT doesn't have a real reward, in fact, doing Mappers Quild priority Quest is more rewarding. Do I have an idea to how to reward them? Yes. You know how you get those wooden things when completing priority Quests for MQ? Make something similar, but with something else for BN's and NAT's.
My personal idea, is that you get pins for reaching those milestones you get badges for - for becoming a BN or NAT, you'd get a customised pin with your username and outline of your profile picture - purple for BN and orange for NAT. You'd get these pins every year, and your statistics would be listed after each one (nominated maps, to be exact). You'd also get a pin for 100 nominated maps, and so on.
