How can I configure a file to be downloaded by the browser rather than opening it.

hfs normally shows a menu for each file, where you have both "open" and "download".
please explain exactly what you are doing.

Thanks. As mentioned I was just wondering if your program can do this, if not that’s ok. I have been using other programs to achieve this like, dropbox and your 2.3m hfs version. There are Apps that just require a link to download the file by default (not open a menu). BookPlayer is one example. Also its sometimes easier when providing support to someone to just have the file download when clicked without the menu.

i'm sorry but i'm still a bit confused on what exactly you are doing when the problem happens.
you may think it's obvious but it's not, and it matters.
are you giving a direct link to a file?

i see.
it depends on how you got the link. You didn't say how you get the link.
you should copy the link of "download", which just has the other one, but has ?dl at the end.
you can actually add those 3 characters yourself, if you prefer.

for hfs is impossible to know in advance if you want to download or not. if it was a jpeg maybe you didn't want to download, but to display it. HFS by default let the browser itself decide. Using the "?dl" you are forcing the download.
feel free to expose a suggestion, if you have one.
