I purchased an iFan04-L and flashed it successfully with this code. It works great and I wanted to thank you for spending the time to put this together. I was thinking about purchasing a few others and was a bit concerned about the remote that it ships with, being they're RF433 and appear to send out identical codes. The rooms I want to add additional devices to are relatively close proximity, either through a single floor or a few walls, and I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to use the remotes that come with it (making them unique) or get a separate smart remote to control altogether. The ability to toggle via home assistant is great, but having a physical button is critical for me. Looking for ideas to see if this is possible. Any thoughts? |

Since they appear in HA as just regular fans (and non-dimmable lights) you can use other remote type devices for it. I have a lot of lights done with Lutron Caseta, for example, and I install their Pico remotes on the wall. The center/up/down I use for the fan (on/off togle, faster, slower) and the top/bottom I use for light on/off. The Caseta Pico also has a table mount that is nice (e.g. for coffee tables) and holds two. One Pico would not be great for multiple fans unless you want them in sync (it would be fine for that). But there are lots of similar remotes and buttons out there. Keep in mind you don't need the button to control the fan -- you need the button to send a signal to home assistant, let automation in home assistant control the fan. |
