protectedContentEnabled is documentend on MDN as "If true, the browser provides a unique ID to plugins in order to run protected content"
Why providing a unique ID is marked as secure and private ?
I think something that provide a unique ID shouldn't be be considered as private nor secure.
This said setting protectedContentEnabled to false may probably break DRM content.
