The Open Object format is based on JSON and designed for rapid prototyping and a partial alternative to IFF. The actual IFF format is much more complex. In its current form, it is designed to be compatible with The Sims, particularly in regard to textures, skills, motives and references to a base game object that the AI understands. It can be expanded upon in the future for native 3D objects.
However, I have no intention of adding an option that removes the fixed camera views or hacking the original isometric objects to work in the 3D environment. That's already been proven to be more trouble than it's worth. My Simulation is intended to both stay true to The Sims' art style while still being able to stand on its own.
