πŸ” Have you checked Spicetify.app page for your issue?

  • I have checked the FAQ

πŸ” Is there already an issue for your problem?

  • I have checked older issues, open and closed

β„Ή Environment / Computer Info

- Spotify version: 1.2.58.498
- Spicetify version: v2.39.3

Windows 11 24H2 x64

πŸ“ Description

Hi!

I want my setup to auto-update after Spotify is updated.
So I added --check-update to my shortcut.

My shortcut is "spicetify auto --check-update"
What is does is tell me there is an update for spicetify, then it launches Spotify with the old version of spicetify.

Expected behavior:
I would think that this command would actually update my instance to the new version (v2.39.3->v2.39.5).

Check update checks update, not upgrades it. Auto-upgrading shouldn’t exist just because it can break with new spotify versions etc

@rxri rxri closed this as not planned Won't fix, can't repro, duplicate, stale Mar 10, 2025
