I'm not really a programmer, I know some light web stuff like html, css, SQL/PHP but I've been using computers since the early 90's and have a fairly good idea of how the logic behind programming works. After a friend told me how good Claude has been for his small projects I decided to finally give this one a go.
This started when I decided to use the AI tagger to add markers to my scenes. I know that was no easy feat to build but I just wasn't that happy with the results, especially with positions like doggystyle missing completely and various other problems with the way it detects and adds markers (this is just a personal preference and I'm not knocking that project in any way). I've got over 1000 videos to add markers to and adding markers the native way felt too slow for how quickly I wanted to move.
The plugin adds a collapsable interface under the Markers section of a scene that pulls a list of all your possible tags, along with a search bar to quickly filter the options. You just simply click the tag you want as the video plays and it'll add it at that point.
If this is something other people want and it doesn't exist already I'm happy to work on it more, but I wanted to get a feel for the demand for something like this before I go through the trouble of trying to make it publicly available. I don't know the first thing about adding a project to github so I've got some research to do before I go any further.
Screenshots below (you can see I still kept some of the AI tagger tags)
Known issues:
The markers tab doesn't update in real time, so if you click to add a marker you won't see it "recorded" until you refresh the page. Not an issue for me so I haven't bothered trying to modify it further.
If you do something like click "edit" on an already existing marker and come back to that page, the quick marker creation dropdown will disappear, but you can easily bring it back by clicking into another tab and then coming back. Again, this doesn't bother me enough to fix it yet.
