When use `&autorecord` resolution is 640 × 360

hello!
When I use next url https://vdo.ninja/?solo&r=${room_id}&v=${director_id}&password=${password}&autorecord to run auto record is start recording in super small resolution. I've already tried &autorecord=5000&scale=100 and h264 codec, the same result.

However if i restart recording via mouse context menu on window

Videos may start recording in a small resolution, but it will ramp up over time. I use tools like ffmpeg to convert the video to a fixed resolution and frame rate.

Another option is to record on the guest's side. I've include a Google Drive option for the director, for example, which will have the video be recorded to the Cloud directly, and in this case, the video will be a fixed resolution and frame rate.

Another option, which I'm still working to improve, is to use &chunked mode on the guest's side. Assuming everyone is using a Chromium-based browser, chunked mode will send a fixed resolution and frame rate, and the recording will be a fixed resolution and frame rate also.

You can also window-capture the Electron Capture window with OBS's window capture option, and OBS will then recorded a fixed framerate/resolution also.

I’m not sure I understand. Will the final video actually have 1280x720 quality, or will it just be stretched?

About chunked mode: am I right that I should add &chunked=2000 to the invite link and send that to guests (and if so, what about the director view)? Then I just use &autorecord in the elecap URL?

I tried adding &chunked=4000 to my director view link, but then autorecord stopped working in elecap 🤷

Btw, is there an option to set the save directory somehow?

@katoquro normally only the first few seconds of a video is 640x360, and then it naturally increases to 1280x720 after a minute. As a result, many video editors only check the resolution at the start of the video, and gives you the size of that.

FFMPEG is smarter than most video editors, and will stretch parts that it needs to stretch (the start), but not the rest of the content. This step also gives you the option to transcode to a format your video editor might like better, and you can still keep things close to lossless if desired.

As per chunked mode, yes, you'd add &chunked mode to the invite link. Everything remains the same, but it will still be some more time before I have chunked mode rock solid stable -- it can fail on slow computers or slow connections.

I'll take a look at the chunked mode issue you mentioned.

Specifying saved folder depends on how to save the video; different modes may or may not allow me specify it. With electron capture, I can probably add a feature into that specifically to allow it.

I'll have to get back to you at some point on this request though.
