The latest version performs search in folders too slow

Problem description

I've used to search with ctrl+shift+F into folder with 3000+ files and subfolders and the previous version of Sublime used to find results very quick(it scanned all files within few seconds), where as the latest version is way too slow, I have to wait minutes to find the results. I think it's using too much CPU now it goes 96% which is ridiculous

Please fill out the issue template, this is not a feature request. What platform are you on? What version a re you using? What version did you use before? Does it happen in safe mode?

Windows 11, Sublime text build 4192, I think previously I used build 4180 and versions before that, not quite sure

Yes, same in safe mode. But I've noticed that when I initiate the sublime text search, the Microsoft Windows Defender(antimalware service executable) starts taking 65-75% of my CPU as well, so it might be the issue slowing down the sublime search

Sounds like you found the culprit. Does disabling defender fix the performance issue?
