Shell ergonomics #1546

How could the content be improved?

I think there may be an expert awareness gap about shell/command-line ergonomics affecting this lesson.

Here are some things novices usually are not familiar with:

  • When the flashing cursor is a block rather than a line, it is equivalent to the cursor being at the beginning of that character.
  • You cannot use the mouse to change cursor position in a command; you must use arrow keys. Holding Ctrl moves by a whole word.
  • You can use the up and down arrows to scroll through the command history.

Some of these are mentioned in this lesson, but sort of as throwaway items. I think having an episode solely devoted to this would be extremely helpful for a lot of people.
