Proposal: Deep filter with levels — worth upstream?

Context

• Built for my own needs on a separate branch; checking interest for a PR.
• Branch for reference: https://github.com/yuvals1/yazi/tree/feat-deep-filter

What It Adds (core)

• Deep mode: --deep enables descendant-aware filtering.
• Levels (configurable): --levels=N controls depth (0=no recurse; 1=children; 2=grandchildren; default 2).
• UI consistency:
  • Preview applies the same deep filter to hovered folders.
  • Navigation keeps deep filter within the original root; clears outside it.
  • Header shows deep-filter L={level} D={distance}: {query}.
  • Filter input title shows the active deep level.
• Clearing: Escape clears deep filter and residual preview/history state.

Why Not Plugin

• Needs coordinated behavior across list, preview, navigation, and header.
• Plugins only see the visible window; can’t implement correct descendant logic/UI propagation.

Behavior

• Deep: show a directory if it matches or contains a match within the level budget.
• Flat filter unchanged.

Compatibility

• Opt‑in: nothing changes unless --deep is used.

How does this compare with repeat filtering like with nnn? That seems more intuitive to me.
