Install with Winget doesnt work right

I tried to install Synapseq with Winget on Windows 11 but when I open a spsq file (I used one from the hub) than it says command not found (,,Der Befehl "synapseq" ist entweder falsch geschrieben oder

Is there a way to fix this.

When I use the direct exe file (The windows one you download from the Synapseq website) I still cant play a sequence because it says that I didnt have FFMPEG installed (But I got it installed)

Hello!

After installing via winget, you need to restart PowerShell/CMD and run:
synapseq -install-file-association

This will create file associations for .spsq files with Windows Explorer.

To enable ffmpeg integration, it is recommended to install ffmpeg via winget as well:
winget install ffmpeg

If you prefer a different ffmpeg installation, you must manually add the paths to the ffmpeg, ffplay, and ffprobe executables to the Windows PATH environment variable.

I already did that. The command doesnt do anything for me. Do you know in wich folder winget does Synapseq install to?

C:\Users\Ruan\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WinGet\Links\synapseq.exe

Run it in the terminal with -play to see the error
synapseq -play sequence.spsq

It only works when I enter it like this: synapseq-v3.5.1-windows-amd64.exe -play sequence.spsq

But the file association doesnt work at all (Sbagen+ had the same bug, but you fixed it there.

Here are my PC specs if that helps:
OS: Windows 11 64 Bit
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070

It only works when I enter it like this: synapseq-v3.5.1-windows-amd64.exe -play sequence.spsq

Run the following commands in PowerShell:

$newPath = "C:\Program Files\SynapSeq"
New-Item -ItemType Directory -Force -Path $newPath
Copy-Item .\synapseq-v3.5.1-windows-amd64.exe "$newPath\synapseq.exe"
$currentPath = [System.Environment]::GetEnvironmentVariable("Path", "User")
[System.Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable("Path", "$currentPath;$newPath", "User")

Then restart PowerShell and run:
synapseq -install-file-association

This will update the file association to point to the new SynapSeq location (C:\Program Files\SynapSeq).

SynapSeq has been updated to version 4.0.1, including some fixes to the context menu options. I recommend running winget update and winget upgrade synapseq once Microsoft updates the Winget repositories.
