Description
Question you want answered
Is some information in the Debian "distribute" v2 page a carryover from the v1 docs?
Where did you look for an answer?
On the below page, it is mentioned that, "A relatively old system such as Ubuntu 18.04 is more suited than Ubuntu 22.04, as the binary compiled on Ubuntu 22.04 will have a higher requirement of the glibc version". Being that this appears on the v2 documentation site at https://v2.tauri.app/distribute/debian/, I'm wondering if that advice doesn't actually apply in the case of a v2 app, which requires libwebkit2gtk-4.1-dev. There are some linked issues, but they seem to be relevant only to v1 tauri apps.
As far as I know, Ubuntu 18 docker images, or their equivalent Debian versions, don't include repositories containing libwebkit2gtk-4.1-dev. Should it therefore be clarified what may be an ideal docker image for building a v2 app? For example, is that in fact something more like debian:bookworm-slim or ubuntu:22.04? Those seem to be the oldest ones on which I can successfully run an apt-get install for libwebkit2gtk-4.1-dev.
