java version required?

Hi,
I'm not sure which Java version is required.
I have a Windows machine with Java 7 where the installation fails during the check_java_version() step (see screenshot below).
On the other hand, I have another PC with java 1.8.0_31 where the installation went smoothly, but I don't know if the package can work with Java 8

Hi,
it should work with Java 7, however I never checked if this was actually the case on a PC. I tested on Mac OS X and Linux.
