Ac dimmer module

So I have 3 led bulbs witch run off 220v I bought this ac dimmer module but can't figure out how to use it with terrarium pi

I did try and add a file but it wouldn't let me for some reason I gor it feom aliexpress I will try copy link

That dimmer is not supported. It is a Pusle Skip Modulation (PSM) dimmer. TerrariumPI does not support that.

A solution to use it, is to connect it to an Arduino and create some software that turns the Arduino into a webserver. And create some API calls to communicate with TerrariumPI. But this involves programming skills, and I do not support coding on an Arduino.

TerrariumPI only supports Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). Which is a different technique. Supported hardware that works:

Sorry to say, but for AC dimming, I do not know much devices that support that.

@theyosh I've been digging around as for the mpdmv4.1 it's £60 shipping to UK but I have found this module that's a ac pwm module

That module could work. When using, connect it to a PWM enabled GPIO pin: https://pinout.xyz/pinout/pwm I have the feeling that that works better than regular pins.

Also, be careful when testing. I can't judge if they are safe. It is 220Volts you are playing with ;)

My advise, buy 2 or 3 at the same time..... When it works.. you gonna use it.. after a couple of years it can/will break... Always handy to have backup at hand... And sometimes some hardware is not available at that point...

I managed to get around to using the module I used it on 2 different led bulbs the first did nothing the brightness stayed the same and the second bulb was flashing on amd off so might me a dead-end

I my have found a solution to the ac dimmer module this extra module turns the ac dimmer into an i2c dimmer here is a link

I believe now that they have made a i2c controller for the ac dimmer module that terrarium pi software can now use the ac dimmer
