1822 PNW cannot choose forest route where there are two routes between two cities

As a workaround,I was able to run the more lucrative route only by running two trains between the same two cities,so that the second one was forced to run through the forest.But I had been unable to run the first train through the forest,and if I had only had one train,I would have been unable to select the forest route. Maybe auto-routing would have selected it.

Part of the problem seems to be that the system doesn't regard the forest as a revenue centre.

Thanks - the log let me reproduce this in game 258206. Not sure if I understood it completely but my findings:

The two-path spot is H19 (Leavenworth) <-> H21 (Wenatchee): a direct link and a detour through the timber hex I20. Checking the manual selector at that state:

click H19, H21        -> H19-H21       $70   (direct, shortest offered first)
click H21 again        -> H19-I20-H21   $80   (forest detour, +$10)

So a single train can take the forest route by clicking the destination city again to cycle paths, and the revenue updates correctly to $80 — no second train needed. Auto-routing picks the $80 route as well, since it maximises revenue. As far as I can tell the timber bonus is applied correctly, so revenue-wise this looks like it's working as intended.

I tried it in hotseat and I could select the routes manually but also auto worked from my point of view correctly:

non-E-train runs along while connecting two revenue centres. So the forest correctly adds to the total without being a revenue centre itself.

Thanks - I hadn't tried/thought to try that. But others might not,either.All I'd tried was clearing the train,trying again,clicking furiously on the forest hex,,which failed.Sooner or later,someone else will encounter the same problem.
