• Validate tags before they are added to the list to ensure they don't already exist
• Display an error or a prompt to the user if they attempt to add an already existing tag.
• Handle edge cases where tags might be similar but still valid ("JS", "Java", "Javascript")

I think you'll want to work closely with BE on what kind of validating they can/should handle. It might make more sense for you to just send all user input and receive a 200 or an error from the backend.
