Was this ever finsihed?

I tried this on OSX Yosemite, weirdly in growl settings => programs, I see the notification, but it is never displayed as a growl notification message, but this could maybe also be due to growl not being completely compatible with yosemite since the last growl update dates from 2013.
In the arduino console I see that when debugging is on, there is a connection.
Or was this library never finished? Or is it supposed to work?

Hey spambus, this was indeed finished and it was working last time I dealt with it.

I'm leaving this open in case someone else runs into the issues you described, or until you get to the bottom of this.

Then I guess it's probably because of yosemite, a lot of people seem to be having problems with growl on yosemite. Maybe if they ever update growl again I could use your code, seems to be really kewl if it would work on os x.
BTW may I suggest changing your github readme for this repository, it says "coming soon", wich suggests that your library is not finished, wich might scare away other users not to try/test your code.
