I built something i genuinely think is cool and useful for managing personal knowledge locally.

Vectile is a private, fully local RAG desktop app for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It indexes your personal knowledge into a local SQLite database and combines vector search with full-text search, letting you find information by meaning rather than exact words.
The data can be exposed with MCP to AI agents.

It can index Obsidian vaults, documents, code repositories, Calibre libraries, and more. Embeddings run locally from .gguf models, so there is no server, cloud service, API key, or network call involved.

Everything stays on your machine.

It support OCR (it installs tesseract as a plugin) for PDFs and the local models are installed locally on your machine through the app.
