How to disable lichess querying ?

I don't know what I did, but I am now seeing a new window in the top of the engine window that says "Querying Lichess ...", which I don't want. How to get rid of it ?

You have a gray horizontal bar below the query. Just move it up.

There is no way to stop it. It is built into the Engine Window. The idea is that if 1) you've already opened the Engine Window, so presumably you are interested in and care about engine evaluations...then 2) it would be nice to have an instant evaluation available to you before you even start running your local engine. You may see enough information from the "instant evaluation" that you won't feel it necessary to run your local engine. You can always choose to run a deeper analysis than what's already available, (and if your local analysis goes deeper, the top panel evaluation get's supplanted by your deeper analysis).

The amount of internet it uses is trivial. It's using Lichess's API which is fast and only transmitting a few bytes of text data back and forth.
