Same issue for big sur 11.0.1 (not a beta version) |
Does this persist after quitting and re-opening the app? |
I'm no longer able to reproduce this. Closing for now. |
Same issue here on macOS. Just installed yesterday through brew. @skllcrn I can help with debug logs / dev build if you tell me what you need or what I should do :) |
I'm facing the same issue as @cupcakearmy on my M1 Macbook pro. @skllcrn Can we re-open this issue? |
@timothyis If I can help debug or share some log let me know (and maybe how). I'd gladly help :) |
Appreciate it @cupcakearmy, thank you. Are you able to open the inspector with (I think) cmd ⌘ + option ⌥ + i and see if there's any errors in the console? Try refreshing after opening the inspector too. |
Nope, I probably need to build it in dev mode xD |
If you wouldn't mind doing this, just because none of us can reproduce, I'd really appreciate it! |
I would need a working repo xD |
I have a branch that I'm working on here that may help: https://github.com/wulkano/Kap/tree/update/replace-internal-remote-usage Apologies for the mess. Things get outdated quickly with Electron it seems. |
Unfortunately nope again. |
Do we have any update on this issue? @timothyis do you need any help from us to reproduce it? |
I just installed Kap and am having this issue. I think it would be helpful if the website provide a page that shows the discover page and provides links to download and install the plugins. Kap: Console logsLogs narrowed by process name ("Kap") encompassing starting the app, opening the preferences and then the "Discover" pane, waiting for an error to show, and then closing the app:

Thank you for your great work on this :) -- In case it helps prioritize future volunteer efforts, will add my essentially identical report here. Installed & reinstalled Kap on an M1 MBP. Tried deleting the plugin folder and the Kap folder as well in between launches & reinstalls. Still, the inability to browse plugins persisted; faced with a blank brown screen and sometime after the "Oops!" screen. Looking forward to recording system/soundcard audio in the future! Kap: |
I have the same issue on 3 different macs. One has Kap and plugins already installed, but cant browse anymore. Another one has Kap recently installed and cant install any plugin. One i installed today and still cannot browser/install any plugin. :\ |
@timothyis I'll take a look at your WIP: main...update/replace-internal-remote-usage In the mean time, is there a workaround for installing plugins without the UI? |
@davidnormo, @karaggeorge has a better WIP #1234 |
macOS version: Catalina (10.15)

themWorkaround
Haven't tried it but probably downloading and npm-linking it would work.
Love Kap! Just noticed this issue and figured I would let someone know ❤️
