Maven support

Most teams (80%) use Maven AFAIK. Would be great if Maven was supported out of the box, too.

Not counting https://github.com/moditect/moditect, I have tried that before and it was not on the same level as the extra-java-module-info gradle plugin

Would also love to see this.
But probably can't help as my Gradle knowledge is limited and my time even more (especially when contributing to JavaFX😄).

I honestly don't think this would be possible in Maven. A lot of build scripts in this project really emphasize the scripting part. This combined with the fact that maven does not support the same level of artifact transforms for modularized dependencies makes this quite a load of work.
