Dataset Creation for MA Orthophoto Labeling

This repository generates the MA Orthophoto Rooftop Solar Labeling Dataset from scratch. Running build_dataset.py will:

1. Create a labeling grid snapped to the MA Orthophotos dataset overlapping Worcester, MA, which will then be filtered to only include grid cells which overlap buildings.
2. Download the MA Orthophotos for 2019, 2021, and 2023 for full coverage of Worcester, MA and combine them into 3 Cloud Optimized Geotiffs (COGs). Each stage of the dataset creation can also be run separately as needed.
