Hamburger v0.5 Pre-release
Pre-release

Latest update is the release for v0.5, primarily focused on fixing bugs, speeding things up and reducing the number of crashes.

One major change:

  • Added a frequency shifter in the phase distortion module's signal path! Try it out!

Other Changes / Bug Fixes / Boring stuff

  • Fixed a critical bug that occurred on linux operating systems in regards to object lifecycle issues on Fonts and LookAndFeel class instances, causing the plugin to crash when opening the UI.
  • Fixed an issue with the categories for dropdown items being reset when reopening projects on Debian inside of BespokeSynth DAW
  • Refactor GUI code to remove duplicate LookAndFeel instances for a hopefully less buggy experience, with faster UI loads
  • Removed debugging tools that were introduced in v0.4.1 (they aren't very useful)
  • Updated Github Actions Linux builds to support new JUCE 8 GCC requirement.
  • Removed AVX2 requirement for builds (more support for more CPUs)
  • Bump JUCE version to newest JUCE 8 to fix compilation issues on newer Mac devices.
  • Various other small performance fixes and optimisations

With the addition of the frequency shifter in the phase distortion module, there is a chance some of your presets might not work like they used to. With that being said, all of the other signal processing should still be the same.

Major Changes:

  • Rubidium Distortion mode (an extension on transformer style distortion, breaks the rules of physics)
  • Matrix Distortion panel with waveshaping and morph filtering (cause it's funny)
  • Oversampling across all DSP modules (will have higher DSP load)
  • Preset panel now added (with ability to save, load presets)
  • Added error logging with sentry.io

Other changes:

  • Performance improvements in specific areas (multiband compression)
  • Decreased clicking artifacts when twisting knobs, at the cost of some performance (still a few known issues including allpass amount)
  • Colours changed for phase distortion and rubidium distortion panels
  • Change tone of certain modules (tube tone, increased strength of Rubidium asymmetry)
  • Tweak parameter tunings to better placements, unify amounts
  • Fix some crashes on linux and other systems due to static font lifecycle issues and math errors
  • Make several parameters independent (compression, noise)
  • Ensured the grill does not saturate sound when the knob is set to 0

Full Changelog: v0.3...v0.4

This will change the sound of existing projects that uses Hamburger, so consider this version (and all v0.x versions) breaking.
