What was done

  • This Delft3D 4 branch, in which an ice model has been added, is only built to generate an AlmalInux 8 executable of this Delft3D-FLOW version with an ice model, so that client(s) can run simulations with this ice model.
  • The current and old research version of this code (NB. in SVN) generates a CentOS-7 executable, which can't be run on AlmaLinux 8 machines.
  • Therefore the ice model ice has been programmed in the Delft3D 4/Delft3D FM main version of early January 2026.
  • THE GOAL IS NOT TO MERGE THIS FUNCTIONALITY IN THE MAIN OF THE DELFT3D (FM) SYSTEM.
  • So, it isn't necessary that these code changes will be reviewed. It is the responsibility of @goede2606 that this new research branch will generate comparable ice model results compared to the previous (CentOS based) executable of this ice model.

Tests

  • The TeamCity AlmaLInux 8 executable generated in this issue is downloaded and tested outside TeamCity
  • When the ice model results are OK (i.e. comparable with previous research versions), then this executable will be send to the client, without any guarantees.
