Ubuntu based and Fedora work almost out of the box, installing just the drivers, and a switch package.

Dual GPU with optimus (ARCH)

  • Install nvidia-settings and drivers if not already installed
paru -S nvidia nvidia-utils nvidia-settings nvidia-prime

This works almost out of the box, but the configuration is limited

paru -S optimus-manager
  • Copy all optimus-manager files to the respective file on /etc/optimus-manager/

  • Install drivers for intel/amd gpu if not alreay installed

# For intel
paru -S xf86-video-intel
# For amd
paru -S xf86-video-amdgpu
  • If using gnome install gdm-prime, force xorg start
sudo vim /etc/gdm/custom.conf
# uncomment WaylandEnabled=false
  • Screen tearing:
nvidia-settings --assign CurrentMetaMode="CONNECTION:RESOLUTION_RATE +0+0 { ForceFullCompositionPipeline = On }"
