Code Signing of HOK Plug ins

Since Revit release 2017 it is preferred that all ExternalCommands be signed by a trusted publisher. HOK's IT Department has taken care of creating a special DTM Code Signing Certificate for that purpose. You can get access to it by making a request from your User Certificates Manager:

  • Type "Manage User Certificates" into Start/Search on windows start bar. It should bring up a tool called certmgr. Be careful here to make sure that you are managing USER certificates and not COMPUTER. The manager for both looks the same.

  • Right click on "Certificates" under "Personal" and go to "All Tasks" > "Request New Certificate":

  • Click "Next" in the first window that comes up.

  • Click "Next" again for the Enrollment Policy window.

  • In next window you should see "Code Signing DTM" available to be requested. Check it and click "Enroll".

  • When enrollment is done, you should see the window with Status: Succeeded.

Ps. If the Code Signing DTM is not on a list, then you need to request it to be added. That's a job for IT. Please contact:
