Use importlib.metadata for plugin entry point discovery instead of
pkg_resources, avoiding the setuptools deprecation and missing-module
failure in newer uv environments.
Replace np.asfarray with np.asarray(..., dtype=float) so plotting works
with NumPy 2.0+.
