This is an n8n node to create pastes on a self-hosted Pastebin instance.
Follow the n8n “community nodes” installation guide to install the package, or install it manually in Docker (recommended to validate n8n 2.x compatibility).
npm ci
npm run lint
npm run buildThis node depends on puppeteer, so copying only dist/ into a custom folder is not enough (npm dependencies will not be available). The simplest approach is to install the package into the container’s ~/.n8n/nodes.
# 1) Build + pack on the host
npm ci
npm run build
npm pack
# 2) Copy the tgz into the container
docker cp ./n8n-nodes-pastebin-0.1.4.tgz n8n:/tmp/n8n-nodes-pastebin.tgz
# 3) Install into n8n's nodes directory
docker exec -it n8n sh -lc '
mkdir -p /home/node/.n8n/nodes
cd /home/node/.n8n/nodes
npm init -y >/dev/null 2>&1 || true
npm install /tmp/n8n-nodes-pastebin.tgz --omit=dev
'
# 4) Restart n8n
docker restart n8n- Tested with n8n 2.13.3 (Docker).
Pastebin is an open-source, web-based application that allows you to store and share plain text. It is often used to share code snippets, configuration files, or any other type of text. Because it can be self-hosted, it provides a secure way to share secrets and other sensitive information.
This n8n node allows you to interact with your own self-hosted Pastebin instance. You can provide the URL of your instance and the content you want to paste, and the node will generate a secure link to share your text.
- Add the Pastebin node to your workflow.
- In the node's properties, set the URL of your self-hosted Pastebin instance.
- Set the content of the paste. This can be a secret, a code snippet, or any other text.
- Execute the workflow.
The node will output the URL of the newly created paste, which you can then share securely.
