Add support for the Lexmark C3200 Series, in particular the Lexmark C3224dw printer.

Hi all,

is there anything I can do to facilitate the inclusion of these printer definitions? Or, is there another recommended workflow to add printer support, apart from filing a PR to foomatic-db?

Hi @vog ,

thank you for the PR!

The printer supports AirPrint based on the Apple page - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201311 - any reason why adding PPD support for it into foomatic? Is AirPrint broken on the machine?

Thanks for your feedback! I'll check that as soon as I have access to the printer.

I asked the owner of that Lexmark C3224dw printer and they confirmed that their device, despite being clearly labeled as "C3224dw", does not have Wifi and can only be used via USB, contrary to what is claimed in the abovely linked Apple support website.

@zdohnal Is this PR now acceptable, or is there any further research that I should do?

Mote that driverless IPP printing/AirPrint also works vua USB. You need to have the package "ipp-usb" of your distro installed. Once done (there needs to be a process anmed "ipp-usb" running) your printer should be available on https://localhost:60000/ (web admin interface) and ipp://localhost:60000/ipp/print (printing).
