Greater Gold

A Fabric mod that adds a Nether-themed upgrade path for gold equipment! Find the Golden Upgrade Smithing Template in Nether Fortress and Bastion chests, then use a Smithing Table with a Blaze Rod to transform your gold gear into Greater Gold equipment with significantly improved durability and mining speed.

• Upgraded Durability - Greater Gold tools last much longer than vanilla gold (500 vs 32 durability by default)
• Faster Mining - Greater Gold tools mine at incredible speeds (24.0 vs 12.0 by default)
• Iron-Tier Mining - Greater Gold Pickaxe can mine iron and gold ore
• Enhanced Armor - Greater Gold armor has improved durability (~1.8x vanilla gold)
• Visual Distinction - Upgraded items display with:
  • A "Greater" prefix (e.g., "Greater Golden Sword")
  • An enchantment glint effect
• Nether Exploration Reward - Find the Golden Upgrade Template as rare loot:
  • 10% chance in Nether Fortress chests
  • 20% chance in Bastion Remnant chests
• Template Duplication - Duplicate your template with 7 Gold Ingots + Blaze Rod
• Fully Configurable - Customize all stat values to your liking

📦 Installation

Requirements

• Minecraft: 1.21.10
• Fabric Loader: 0.17.3 or higher
• Fabric API: Required

Steps

1. Install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 1.21.10
2. Download and install Fabric API
3. Download the latest Greater Gold .jar file from Releases
4. Place the .jar file in your mods folder
5. Launch Minecraft!

🔨 Upgrading Your Gold Gear

Step 1: Find the Golden Upgrade Template

Explore the Nether and search for the Golden Upgrade Smithing Template in:

• Nether Fortress chests (10% chance)
• Bastion Remnant chests (20% chance)

Step 2: Use the Smithing Table

Combine at a Smithing Table:

• Template Slot: Golden Upgrade Smithing Template
• Base Slot: Any gold tool or armor piece
• Addition Slot: Blaze Rod
