homebrew-baseten

Homebrew tap for the cross-platform Baseten CLI and the macOS beta of Baseten Switch.

Install the Baseten CLI

# Add the tap
brew tap basetenlabs/baseten

# Trust the tap (required for third-party taps on Homebrew 6.0+)
brew trust basetenlabs/baseten

# Install the CLI
brew install baseten

Then run baseten --help to get started, or see the Baseten CLI README for usage.

Install Baseten Switch on macOS (beta)

Baseten Switch requires macOS 13 Ventura or later. The bundled Mac app is ad-hoc signed and not notarized by Apple, so macOS may require first-launch approval under System Settings > Privacy & Security.

brew trust basetenlabs/baseten
brew install basetenlabs/baseten/baseten-switch

This installs Baseten Switch and its Baseten CLI dependency. Then run:

baseten-switch setup
baseten-switch up --install
baseten-switch claude on
baseten-switch doctor --probe

Upgrade

Upgrade the Baseten CLI:

brew upgrade basetenlabs/baseten/baseten

If you installed Baseten Switch, upgrade it and the Baseten CLI:

brew upgrade basetenlabs/baseten/baseten-switch basetenlabs/baseten/baseten

How this tap is maintained

Formula/baseten.rb is generated by GoReleaser from the baseten-cli release pipeline and committed here on each release.

Formula/baseten-switch.rb is generated by the Baseten Switch release pipeline from the final beta release archive and its SHA-256 checksum. Do not edit generated formulae by hand.
