FWIW, I was running "discount" and "markdown_py3.4" to generate the HTML from the README.md locally. GitHub's flavour of Markdown is clearly more forgiving in these cases (this variation between implementations is one of the reasons I tend towards the more strictly defined, and thus far less popular--heh--AsciiDoc). |
