The Flask server was not configured to serve the static frontend files. This meant that although the backend API was running, the user interface was inaccessible.

This change introduces the following:

  • A catch-all route in backend/app.py to serve the index.html of the frontend for any non-API route.
  • The frontend is now built and its assets are placed in backend/static so the Flask server can serve them.
  • A root .gitignore file has been added to untrack generated files.
  • The server is now started with gunicorn in the run.sh script.

The Flask server was not configured to serve the static frontend files, making the UI inaccessible.

This change introduces:
- A catch-all route in `backend/app.py` to serve the frontend's `index.html` for any non-API route, and correctly return 404 for missing API endpoints.
- The frontend is now built into `backend/static` for serving.
- A root `.gitignore` was added and generated files were untracked.
- The server is now started with `gunicorn` in `run.sh` for better production use.
