Replaces #1, which I closed so as to use my master branch to merge changes together.

This adds a little bit of infrastructure for people building without nodejs.

mkdir build
cmake ..
make
make test
sudo make install # maybe unneeded

C++ volunteer work will mostly come from people familiar with c++ build systems.
