@alxndrkalinin this might also help exploring the idea of smooth normalization over time for Cytoland. I think that using these stats to then ensure the phase values over time are smoother, should also produce smoother VS results. |

I added some tests that we didn't have for these functions. I think we are good to go assuming they all pass. Thanks @ritvikvasan . Feel free to merge it if everything passes
