I am willing to co-maintain this, if needed.

@nick-paul the TerminalMenus in stdlib and yours, which I had been using recently actually diverged a little bit.

For me it makes most sense to use TerminalMenus.jl the package.

+1 - it seems worth keeping these separate. The implementation in this package is a bit easier to use, I think.

And currently, since the REQUIRE is forcing an old version of Compat, it's difficult / impossible to use this package together with more modern packages that require a newer version of Compat.

So getting this merged would be really helpful. :) Thanks!

I think it is a laudable goal to have the private version in the REPL match this one, but
this should be the upstream. Right now feature development like JuliaLang/julia#41834 (cc: @jonas-schulze) is bound to versions of Julia.

I think there are two options:

  1. A few of the interested parties (me, @timholy, etc...) could be added as maintainers to this repo
  2. We migrate this repo to JuliaLang/TerminalMenus.jl in preparation for it becoming a full stdlib -- as an upstream that we pull from regularly for REPL.TerminalMenus.jl

@nick-paul What's your take on this? 🙂

Since, I haven't had the time to work on my Julia projects in a bit, I'd be happy to add @vchuravy (or others) as a maintainer in order to keep things up-to date so that the project can still be used by the community. I'd also be happy to migrate this over to JuliaLang if that makes the most sense. Which option would you recommend?

@nick-paul we would be happy to host it at JuliaLang, could you trigger a move of the repository to vchuravy and I will then move it to JuliaLang.

@vchuravy Sounds good. You'll need to delete your fork first. GitHub won't allow a transfer if the receiver already has a repo with the same name.

Sent a move request to @vchuravy after he deleted his fork in November but it hasn't been accepted. @vchuravy Are you still planning on moving this over to JuliaLang?
