Looks like this works great! I locally built an ISO with this staging branch added. On oryp12, nvidia mode is active in the live disk, and hybrid mode is active after install and reboot.
We also tested it on a discrete Nvidia desktop, and the Nvidia driver seems to be working correctly, both in the live disk and post-install.
