Summary of Changes

Hello @luispater, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request primarily focuses on two areas: enhancing the default reasoning capabilities of AI model translations by adjusting a key configuration parameter, and significantly improving the stability and accuracy of file system event handling within the application's watcher component. The file watcher improvements address potential race conditions and inconsistencies that can arise from file system operations, particularly on Windows, by introducing path normalization and event debouncing.

Highlights

  • AI Model Translation Defaults: The default reasoning.effort for Codex API translations from Claude, Gemini, and OpenAI requests has been elevated from 'low' to 'medium', aiming to improve the quality of AI model responses.
  • File Watcher Robustness: Significant enhancements have been made to the file watcher (watcher.go) to improve its reliability, particularly for authentication files. This includes introducing path normalization and debouncing mechanisms for file removal events.
  • Path Normalization: A new normalizeAuthPath function has been added to standardize file paths, ensuring consistent handling across different operating systems (e.g., Windows path cleaning and lowercasing) and preventing issues with path variations.
  • Remove Event Debouncing: A debouncing mechanism (shouldDebounceRemove) has been implemented for file removal events. This prevents rapid, spurious re-processing of files during atomic file replacements (which can appear as a remove followed by a create/rename), leading to more stable file watching.

Code Review

This pull request, titled 'v6.6.6', appears to be a version bump that includes several changes. The most significant change is in internal/watcher/watcher.go, where file path normalization and debouncing for remove events have been added to improve the robustness of the file watcher, particularly on Windows. Other changes include updating the default reasoning.effort from 'low' to 'medium' in several translator files and a minor code formatting fix. The changes are well-implemented and improve the codebase. I have one minor suggestion to improve maintainability in the watcher logic.

medium

The value 128 is a magic number that determines the maximum size of the lastRemoveTimes cache. It's better to define this as a constant to improve readability and maintainability. I suggest defining a constant like authRemoveDebounceCacheSize = 128 in the const block around line 134 and using it here.
