Since Selah currently has no welcome/intro/tour when you open it I thought it might be useful to create a quick-start guide of sorts. Selah is designed to appear very simple out of the box and intuitively guide the user to more advanced features/customizations if they want to find them.

When you open Selah for the first time, you will see this screen:

From left to right, top to bottom, the colored arrows and boxes are pointing/showing the following features:

  • (the red arrow) The main menu (option toggles, UI/color customizations, etc.)
  • (the green box) Tap/click here to open the verse chooser dialog to control navigation either by entering a reference or choosing it from the grid.
  • (the blue arrow) The search screen.
    • Note that the search screen also has it's own buttons across the top of the screen and from left to right they are: Back (navigate back to the main screen), Help, Saved searches, Options.
  • (the orange arrows) Chapter navigation buttons (forward and back). Selah also supports touch screen swipe navigation and laptop touch-pad gestures (two-finger swipe left/right to change chapters, two-finger swipe up/down to scroll).
